An example of a Special Hallmarked Sterling Silver commission, designed by Caustin Bros Ltd and made by Mark Munson.
The "Abraham" Processional Cross, complete with sectional silver decorate metal stave, and fitted leatherette case.
The designs are based on the famous Abraham stone which is the gravestone of Hedd and Isaac, sons of Bishop Abraham killed by the vikings in 1080.
The design has the feeling of a wheel Cross, yet is still traditional.
The design of the enamel on the front center of the cross is taken from the Abraham stone, and the enamel on the back of the Cross is the Coat Of Arms from the Cathedral.
The main Cross blade is hand wrot (hand hammered) with the remaining silver highly polished. |
