Silver Restoration and Repair

I was apprenticed as an ecclesiastical silversmith and have many years experience of making pyx box, wafer boxes, pro crosses, crosiers, altar set, font bowls, chalice & ciboria as well as the more unusual items like viaticum, oil stocks etc.  I have a great understanding of how things are made and this is essential when repairing antique or modern pieces of church metal work.

I also specialize in the repair and refurbishment of all church silver and plate, removing dents and scratches from chalice and ciboria, fitting new crosses to ciboria lids, strengthening the feet of chalice and ciboria, monstrance etc., replacing and resetting precious and semi precious stones around knops, feet and bowls. 

I can also repair enamels or supply new ones for altar crosses, pro crosses, crosiers, chalice & ciboria etc.  I can repair thurribles including replacing the chains and re-silvering if required. 

I am able to obtain and replace the glass on silver cruets of all shapes and sizes.  I have the facility to engrave crosses and inscriptions on chalice and patens etc.  I have in stock many different sizes of ball feet for wafer boxes and if in doubt can make feet to match.

I can gold plate the grids for wafer boxes, the face sides of paten, insides of chalice and ciboria bowls after refurbishment.  I am able to gold plate or gild entire chalice, ciboria, monstrance or any piece of church silver.
